Plan Your Visit to Old Fort Parker- FAQ's

Do we allow pets?

Yes we do! As long as your pet is on a leash and well behaved.

Do we rent out individual rooms in the Barracks or Music House?

Unfortunately, we are unable to at this time. BUT, for the same price as most hotel room, you can rent the entire Miss Rogers Music House. Details on the Fees Page.

Can I stay in a cabin inside the Fort?

Unfortunately, no. We do not allow anyone to stay overnight inside the fort cabins.  We also do not build fires in the chimneys inside the cabins due to the fire hazards with the dry wood of the Fort.

Can I have my event at or inside the Fort?

Absolutely! For information on booking an event please call us at 254-729-5253. There are accommodations information, deposit amounts, and rental details on the Fees & Facilities page.

Are the family members that were killed buried here?

The family members that were killed in the raid are interred at Fort Parker Memorial Cemetery, which is a few miles down the road from the restoration. Fort Parker Memorial Cemetary is a historic cemetery that is the final resting place of many notable figures from the fort's past. There is a statue and a memorial stone marking the graves of those that were killed in the raid in 1836. It is a peaceful and reflective spot to visit.
